This winter recruitment period is always a period of feverish speculation and possible big-money deals. A number of high-profile footballers find themselves connected to moves out of their current teams. Here is a look at some of the key names who could be changing clubs this month.

Antoine Semenyo

Despite the Black Stars' inability to reach the Africa Cup of Nations, this has left the forward in contention, indications are a major move is imminent. This 25-year-old has a contract featuring a substantial release clause active for a short window in early January. Latest reports indicate Manchester City have emerged as his signature. Former interested parties such as Chelsea and Tottenham reportedly have moved on to other targets, potentially opening the door for clubs such as Liverpool or Manchester United to make a late move.

M. Guéhi

This England defender has continued to excel for Palace despite a summer transfer to Liverpool collapsing. As his deal set to expire in the summer, this represents the London club's final chance to secure a transfer fee for their captain. Numerous elite sides, including Manchester City and several continental powerhouses including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, are believed to be interested. However, a January exit is considered unlikely, particularly given the coach's dependence on the defender.

B. Johnson

This Welsh winger has found starting minutes hard to come by at Tottenham this campaign. The much-admired Netherlands midfielder has drawn parallels to a Belgian superstar for his playing style. Following starring at the Under-19 European Championship, he has broken into the AZ side. This 19-year-old is widely tipped to make a major transfer in January.
